Anthony Rubio - Canine Couture

Fashion week in New York City always brings out styles from the top designers in the industry. Everyone shows up and shows out almost as if it were an unofficial competition among each other. However, this past fashion week has gone to the dogs as Anthony Rubio a.k.a. The Original Pet Couturier, showcased his latest collection of Canine Couture.

Over 20 dogs walked the catwalk, each accompanied by their runway companions wearing luxury outfits. Canine Couture has become Anthony Rubio's legacy. He introduced Canine Couture and was the first designer in history to introduce canines on the runways of New York Fashion Week which was quite a feat. He is the very proud Doggy dad to Chihuahua twins named Bogie and Kimba who he adopted at two months of age. These boys have become famous in their own right having been featured in such publications as Vogue in different countries as well as Harper's Bazaar, several periodicals world wide and just about any fashion publication you can imagine. Bogie and Kimba are not only his muses or faces of his brand but they have been featured among the first dogs to ever hit the runways of NYFW as models in history and continue to do so.

When asked if canine fashion design is Anthony's career, his response is "NO". Canine and human fashion design are his life. Through his designing and presenting he has been afforded a platform from which he is able to speak and be the voice of those who can not speak. From this platform he can educate and spread the word about animal rescue and pet adoption. From this platform he can enlighten others about the plight of innocent animals that are being used, abused and abandoned. Anthony can also share his experiences and knowledge on pet health, benevolence and make a real difference in bringing people and domestic animals closer together.

Anthony Rubio is currently working on several projects. He has a coffee table book in the works which will be released very soon and he's currently in negotiations to make more appearances.
