Model Spotlight - Featuring: Princess
Fashion week in New York City took over the big apple once again on Thursday, Feb 10th as models of all shapes and sizes participated in the Runway 7 fashion event. One of the models who made her statement on the runway was Princess who walked for the designer brand "Think". Princess, who is Nigerian / American & has been modeling for the past two years and counting. Her experience walking for "Think" was very interesting and very cool. She loved the yellow sweatsuit she wore on the runway. The designer just knew it complimented her skin and body type. "Now walking out as the first model was a little scary to me because I’m used to being the 5th or 7th model to walk out. So I’m glad I accomplished that feat and had so much fun working with the team. If they asked me to model for them again I’d be super thrilled to work with them again".
"My goals for my modeling career is to become a supermodel. It isn’t easy and I’ve dealt with rejection after rejection. I just keep going and eventually it’ll happen. In the modeling industry it’s very difficult especially as a darker skin woman / black woman. During casting no one looks up at you unless you’re biracial or white… no matter your looks, the designer and agencies don’t care. But there is an agency and designers that are willing to work with you. As time is progressing in this day and age, I’m glad things have made a drastic change in fashion including body positivity but there still needs to be work done".
